I was so excited to go to college and as I was moving into my dorm room I felt a rush of freedom. Yes! I would no longer be stuck under my domineering mother’s bony thumb. My room was on the third floor and had a big window. But after I got all moved in I was saddened to see that the view from my window was blocked by a bulky fire escape. The first day I lived in the dorm was fun, I met a lot of cool people and walked around campus.

But the next morning it was overcast, and with the blocked window it seemed like I didn’t get any additional light into my room. I worried that I wouldn’t have enough light to read or study. I even began to imagine I would flunk out of school! I made a frantic call to my mom and the next day she showed up at my dorm with two beautiful tiffany floor lamps! I think everything will be okay from now on.

People should be unique beings – not sheep herded by trends and fads. Your tastes should reflect exactly who you are, and not an approximation. With that said, you should start with the little things, such as custom made Tiffany lamps. Tiffany lamps go in-and-out of style every so often, but they still represent a simple time in home décor history.
No two Tiffany lamps look the same, but you should still make an effort to find one that suits your personality best.

Wall lights, or sconces, are mounted on the wall and create soft ambient light and subtle background lighting. Wall lights can be directional or they can emit light all around.
Wall sconces come in different styles, with the most popular emulating the look of stained glass windows; these can be found in several different outlets from secondhand retail stores to online stores that specialize in the wall sconces or light fixtures.

Stain glass gifts are among the best presents to give and receive. It’s traditional sensibility and unique look makes it a cornerstone in art. But how did stained glass come about initially?
Colored glass has been produced since ancient times. Both the Egyptians and the Romans excelled at creating small colored glass objects. In the Early Christian churches of the 4th and 5th centuries, there are many remaining windows which are filled with ornate patterns of thinly-sliced alabaster set into wooden frames, giving a stained-glass like effect. Similar effects were achieved with greater elaboration using colored glass rather than stone by Muslim architects in Southwest Asia.
In the 8th century, the Arab chemist Jabir ibn Hayyan (Geber) scientifically described 46 original recipes for producing colored glass in Kitab al-Durra al-Maknuna (The Book of the Hidden Pearl), in addition to which 12 recipes were inserted by al-Marrakishi in a later edition of the book. Jabir also described the production of high quality colored glass cut into artificial gemstones.
