When shopping for antique Tiffany lamps, you should consider more than just the name on the lamp to decide if the item is fairly priced and worthy of your investment. For those who are just about to start a collection of these timeless lamps, here are some tips to consider:

~Consider any purchase carefully and inspect each lamp objectively.
~Try to stick with shades and bases from the same company. While you can mix and match shades and bases from several makers, collectors tend to prefer only one company per lamp.
~An unsigned stained glass lamp can have better overall quality and overall appearance, raising value considerably for the piece even without the signature from the artist.
~No two stained glass lamps are exactly the same.
~Buy the best lamp you can afford. Lower-priced lamps do not appreciate as quickly as a higher quality more unique lamps will.
~Stay away from damaged lamps or lamps which have undergone repairs. They tend to always remain well below the value of undamaged lamps.

Stained Glass Memories

Author: LampLampLamp

beautiful Catholic ChurchGrowing up I attended our neighborhood Catholic Church. The church was beautiful; it was built from white bricks and surrounded with lush greenery. Every Sunday morning we walked there from our house. We had a big family so it was quite a procession.

What I loved most about the Sunday school room was that it was furnished with several stained glass lamps. The church had been built in the 1800s, so the lighting system was totally outdated. But I loved that about it. The stained glass lamps really created a special ambiance.
